Salamander Saturday

Discovery Zoo

Found in both tropical and temperate forests, salamanders are a key element to keeping our forests healthy, as their steady diet of insect and arthropod populations – such as ticks and mosquitos – acts as a natural form of "pest control" and helps keep those populations in balance.

Learn more through animal talks at 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., when you meet some of our resident turtles and tortoises! Crafts and coloring pages will also be available, while supplies last.
