Registration & Judging
Registration for the contest will be held on-site at the Make It Dayton photo booth inside the facility. Contestants must provide a name and email address to enter, and the photo booth will be available for contestants that would like pictures to be featured on the Boonshoft Astronomy facebook page. Registration for the contest must be completed before the costume parade.
Representatives from Dayton's anime convention, Kabochacon, will be judging our costume contest! The Judges will decide on the winning costumes throughout the evening and post the names of the winners shortly after the parade. Names will be posted next to the photo booth, where awards can be picked up by the end of the evening. All Judging decisions are final.
Please use common sense... If you can’t take it on a plane, then it’s probably best to leave it at home! When planning your costume, keep in mind that GeekFest is a family-friendly event. Please note we cannot and will not pre-approve your props, but Security may need to check them at the door.
The Dos and Don'ts:
All fake/toy/prop guns must have an orange tip, whether glued plastic or painted.
The Boonshoft Museum reserves the right to confiscate any prop deemed dangerous and to eject any attendee who may be a danger to others. These rules apply to both general event attendees and costume contest entrants.
Be sure to follow the Boonshoft Museum Astronomy Department for updates.
