Evening of Astronomy: Scale of the Solar System

Caryl D. Philips Space Tehater

Friday, March 15, 2019, 7:00pm - 8:00pm

Did you know that you could fit 30 Earth sized objects between the Earth and the Moon?  Are you aware that if you lived on Pluto, you would have only one birthday every 248 years? Join presenter Ed Tomme as we explore the Sun and its planets in the planetarium.

BONUS: Do you have a telescope gathering dust? Bring it with you to the Museum and receive assistance with operating it from members of the MVAS (Miami Valley Astronomical Society).  Free Astronomy observing materials will be available. Receive answers to your questions regarding the purchase of binoculars, telescopes, and accessories.

Admission to this after-hours educational program is free to the public. Live observing will continue throughout the evening in the Apollo Observatory (weather permitting).
