Too Small to See
Too Small to See January 29–May 2, 2010
Stretch a molecule, dissolve a crystal and transport an atom as you focus on things that are Too Small to See! Explore a science where scientists work on a nanoscale to make very, very small devices. Used to make smaller and faster computer chips, create new medicines, or even stain-resistant clothing, nanotechnology deals with items that are smaller than 100 nanometers in size. How big is that? A nanometer is one-billionth of a meter!

Sponsored by: The Engineering and Science Foundation of Dayton

Too Small to See was created by Cornell University, Painted Universe Inc., and the Sciencenter in Ithaca, NY.
How People Make Things
How People Make Things May 22–September 6, 2010
Explore the people, ideas, and technology used to transform raw materials into finished products. In a world where things often seem to magically appear on store shelves, this exhibition goes directly to the “factory floor” where participants can mold, cut, form, and assemble materials to learn how things are made. Pour liquid wax into a mold, press forms from a die cutter, and use vacuum force to create a bowl to take home!

How People Make Things was created by Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh in collaboration with Family Communications, Inc. and the University of Pittsburgh Center for Learning in Out of School Environments with support from the National Science Foundation and the Grable Foundation.
A-Mazing Sea
A-Mazing Sea September 25, 2010–January 2, 2011
Voyage to the depths of the sea and discover the truly a-mazing life that exists there. Explore the deep blue waters that cover more than 70% of our planet, and learn what it might feel like to wear your house like a turtle, crawl through a whale’s mouth, and reach in to an octopus cave.

A-Mazing Sea was created by The Maritime Aquarium and Minotaur Maze Exhibits.
