Moment of Zen

For decades, the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery has offered a unique mix of family learning that combines the best practices from children’s museums, science centers, and natural history museums to our members and guests. Based on this tested approach to exhibits, for the first time, the Museum is offering the end results of these years of development to other museums, science centers, and child-focused facilities.
Crafted by our experienced builders, these designs range from single pieces to full-scale replicas of current exhibits, as well as custom display cases for displaying objects, artifacts, or specimens. Each piece will be made to order, and can be designed to fit into your play and learning space. Educational exhibit signage is available for purchase for each complete exhibition.
This exhibition focuses on creative play – unstructured, uninterrupted time where children are allowed to explore at their own speed and discretion. The relaxed atmosphere allows them to nurture their curiosity by discovering the world around them in a manner that fosters creativity and problem-solving.

This interactive Pizza Kitchen is great for young children under the age of 10 while also encouraging children of multiple ages and to interactive with those younger children in the space. The educational objectives include following directions, counting, and patterns. Children can “dress like a chef,” take pizza orders, assemble their pizza, and deliver their finished pizza. Along the way, they are challenged to count the number of slices, count the number of toppings, identify the shapes on a pizza, and make various patterns with the ingredients.
