Help Name Our New Red-Tailed Boa

Friday, March 8, 2019, 5:00pm

Our young red-tailed boa may be out to meet guests each day in the Bieser Discovery Center -- but she also still needs YOUR help to pick out her new name!

She currently weighs in at about 10 lbs. and is approximately 4 1/2 feet long, but she could grow to be up to 50 lbs. and 10 feet long. Members and guests can vote in-person or online until March 3 at 5:00 p.m.

Voting Results

The votes are in and have been counted (and recounted), and the winner is.... *drumroll* ...RUBY!

With 1,099 votes cast at the Museum and online, the totals were: 363 for Ruby, 337 for Val(entine), and 336 for Rosa! There were 63 write-in suggestions through paper ballot voting at the Museum -- with a strong campaign of 15 votes for Scarlett -- but "Ruby" was the clear winner.

Thanks to everyone who made their voice heard! Be sure to stop by the Bieser Discovery Center to say hello to Ruby on your next visit.
